I've come to a kind of insight. It seems to me that you on principle would be able to speak Vietnamese totally without consonants. It all a kinds of vowelsong. This is in stark contrast to slavic languages that seems to dwell mostly in the consonant space. Thus to learn Vietnamese maybe one should only sing?
OK. Of course this is oversimplification. For most foreigners being exposed to other languages, one often tend to characterize them as singing. Swedish do that about norwegian. Norwegians do that about swedish. Thinking about it Danish also seems to drop consonants as well as French.
Now, how can this help me to learn Chinese? :D
