Unexpected meeting - Red Hat!

So, when travelling one sometimes bump into people in unlikely places. Now in Kuala Lumpur I was having something to eat and Noel happen to walk by! Noel work for Red Hat in Sydney and I've meet him at the Java users group where I've given a talk. They were drinking a rowboat (?).

In any case, I found my Hk lai cha, its called "Teh C" here. C stands for carnation, like the condensed milk.

First hotel with ample electric outlets!

Its amazing how many "fine", hotels have no power outlet to charge your laptop or phone. Often you need to unplug something. However, cheaper hotels like the one I'm in now usually have a few. Here I have four!

Now, time to look for mobile dictionary so I can order food!

Swedish hacker meatballs

One of the persons I visit in Singapore is Ricky, who is an ex-coworker. He's now studying business. We meet up yesterday, to go to the Singaporean hackerspace.sg. On the street there was a swedish cafe "fika", and who can resist swedish meat balls? I can't...

Fika, by the way, is a rather unique swedish word/concept. I think I'll let Erica explain that one!

There is a Fika restaurant in new York to, southern end of the central park, maybe it's a chain?

Mosque

Singapore may be humid, and warm (34C), and yes, I got my first cold here since forever. The humidity is making me cough a bit. We'll see how I fare at my next destination. Apparently my schedule simplified itself a bit, which is good.

Singapore seems cool in that there are mosques and Hindu temples next to Buddhist temples. Seemingly all in harmony. There is probably more behind it all than just meet the eye...

The prices seem to be higher than I remembered. Of course, after 10 years numerical prices have doubled everywhere in the world. Only here prices seems to have tripled.

Grand Bazaar

Didn't buy anything!

A guy tried to sell me chai glasses when I said I wasn't buying, so the prize went down. From 150 to 10. When I still didn't want to buy he said: xxxx xx xxxx!

Had a good tost (toasted sandwich), and fresh orange juice for 6 TL. Every country seem to have their variant of this.

Turkish food pics

I like Turkish food. However, we know much of it from other countries, where much it is fast food, so it feels like eating "fast food" everyday. Today it didn't rain. Excursion tomorrow...

The blue mosque isn't blue

Its part of the cupola painted on inside that is blue. Shoes off!
