Today Buddha

Started the day at the Art Museum of NSW. Then walked to Surrey Hills
down Crown street to Centennial Park. It's huge! Has several ponds and
even a swamp. Now I'm in another park near a water reservoir
overlooking vastness. Time to walk home and rest my feet!

It's like a jungle sometimes

Sometimes in the environment, sometimes on your head. Mindfulness
helps. Like deciding you really need a break, and a walk. Today I
walked throught the garden at work again. The time was 5pm. 4-5 hours
after eating and working. At Plum Village or Deer Park the monks and
lay people eat dinner at that time. At times it felt early. But I'm
coming to think of it as just in time. Worth considering. Now I'm
tired and will goto bed relative early.

Happiness is simple

I sit in the shadow on a bench in Thomas Hogan Reserve and read. I've
eaten brunch. It is warm and comfortable, I have water. And a book.

The sun makes you feel like this

Today I moved to Bondi

is available.

Mondrian Yam Cha

My iPhone can't apparently always simply take a picture. Sometimes it
decides to slide portions around. It's all there. In any case I was
just drinking some Chinese tea - Yam Cha!

Team offsite at the beach

Shaded sitting provided. We BBQd drank and threw frisbee.

White ads

One thing I noticed early in Sydney compared to the Bay Area is that
the ads are all "white" whereas in San Francisco they always have
several races, white mostly in minority. In SF you even get same sex
couple ads! Now, I don't know about the distribution in Australia but
in CBD, if one cares to look around, there is a big Asian presence. I
wonder how long till the ads will change. Oh yeah. It's an microsoftie
ads. I'd even expect them to do better than this. Even if they are
****. Like one says: some of my best friends even work for them...
We'll save them later ;-)

I've slowed down to enjoy the journey

I just saw this in our lobby at work. How very fit as I just did some
walking meditation in our garden.

Anathem by Neal Stephenson

QVB is an hundred year old Victorian shopping mall. It has a center piece clock which is very prominent. Similarly to the clocks in the Maths in Anathem. Now, considering the size of the book and reading it under this clock with English breakfast tea, makes me feel part of the book. I guess I could say I have ASD - Attention Surplus Disorder ;-/

Money is a form of Pyramide scheme.

At least that's how USA banks have been treating it. This is 11+ AUD - to pay for my banana bread and tea.

Being part of the machine

Is something I sometimes think about and enjoy. It's facinating to walk in a busy centre area where there are many people. In Sydney this us even the case in the evening of a weekday in contrast to San Francisco.

Corrugated sheet metal

Is quite commonly used for building in Australia as it is resistent to bush fires that are very common. In this case a single sheet turned as a spiral on a concrete foundation makes an outhouse, or toilet if you will.

Labor weekend retreat

With the Lotus Bud sangha from Sydney. It was home. Especially since they practice in the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition.

Food is served cheaply in "hotels"

These places often don't have rooms but cheap food specials. Sirloin 12aud. When you order at the bar - this is what you get.
