When buying a drink. $2 extra for mash and gravy. This is the effect of Sydneys special drinking permit that is expensive and requires holders to have 30% of the guests eating. The size of the bars ("hotels") are humoungus with any other cities measure. So they need a lot of guests. Its interesting sideeffect. Sweden has/had similar rules making nightclubs open early and provide cheap food. This place "sharks" has many international students and other younger ppl. Now back to the steak...

Looking for a book
Found many but not the one I was looking for. There is this amazing second hand bookstore in Newtown that, well, has books. They are roughly organized by subject and then you need to browse. Its literary overflowing with literary stuff. Books in humoungus piles on the floor on top of the bookshelves exploded on the floor. Its amazing. But it isn't alphabetical. Happy browsing.

Fresh and hot
Sydney now has 39C temperature. Maybe hot and stale? Not yet stale. But it is hot. It is windy at the same time. Interesting warm breeze. The picture is from a hostel in Berlin and shows an automatic hot dog dispensing machine. Didn't try it. Even if its German XXL.

I've been under the weather for a week.
Some stomach issue and some feever. Better now. But when is one sick (0) and well (1)? Maybe Germans have it all thought out in this binary elevator. Will. Will not. Is is not.

Back in Sydney
This is a picture from a subway station (U-bahn) in Berlin. Most of them are really old but this one looks like its from the 70ees. Yes. I'm being jetlagged. No telling what I'm doing.

Wedding in Germany
I had the fortune to be invited to my friends Thomas and Maureens wedding in Regensburg. They play games. It was nice. Regensburg has some to offer. I found that too. Now I'm in München. And I'm freezing my ass off. Funny. But its life. At least for ppl here. Summers are nice. But it makes me appreciate Australia. I mean; wqhy freeze if there is a choice. What's nice is the Wienerschnitzel and Bratkartoffeln.

Grafitti in U-Bahn
Almost looks like its commissioned but I like it. Just attended a talk at CCC on gsm network with running basestation. The hacker conference continues.
CCC
Hackers conference. Currently attending the Hackerspaces talk. Jacob Appelbaum is representing San Francisco's Noisebridge that I was part of initiating and shaping. Its cool being here in Berlin again. The picture is from Alexanderplatz and shows the Weltuhr - worldclock.
God Jul!
Happy Seasons!
I'm using the Swedish term and the american PC term. None of which have religious connotations. As Jul predates the xmas thing. In America our Scandinavian tradituions are called pagan. Growing up in Sweden we're told they are Christian. The truth is that most are just older traditions and culture predating Christianity. I prefer to use the term Jul.
God Jul!

Jingle Bell
I'm taking a small rest in a park. I heqar a party nearby singing xmas carols. There is a van here from www.youthofthestreet.com.au. Cockroaches about 4cm long roam around on the pavement. It is a warm nite. Actually every night is about the same temp nowadays. Don't bring a jacket! Homeless ppl are being served. The photo is taken in another park. The Hyde Park. I took it some weeks ago. On a warm summer day. There is a guard at the tree 24h.

Partytime
Arriving at our bosses birthdayparty we did in a water taxi from Darling Harbour. That felt like style. It was also fun that it was unexpected. Whenever you get to visit such mansions with beatiful view, with its own jetty etc, naturally you think you want that too. Wouldn't it be nice.
Yes. It would. But having to host parties because you have the perfect house may become tiresome. At least for me. My place doesn't have waterviews, but its wqalking distance to work. Have food nearby and good public transport for more distant places.
Still nice party. Nice house. It would be nice to live in amansion like ...

Finally!
"The Sydney firebrigade closed down the Hungry Jacks [oz name for Burger King] food chain because of the danger its food poses to the general public.
Indian classical music
A friend invited me to his concert. This was very much a new experience! The way the violin is held and played, as well as peoples participation during the concert by a very distinctive way of counting the rhytm with the right arm and clapping it to the leg accordingly. I really enjoyed the Sanscrit singing. It is such a beatutiful language, sound very much like a chant.
